Last night, one of my ex-colleague told me (through fb) that she has read my blog and felt inspired by it (especially on the "3 things that make you smile..."). She encouraged me to continue blogging and share it across. At this moment, no words can describe my satisfaction and happiness! So, this must be one of my 3 things then...Hehe. I know there is a saying of "double edged sword", but I've created a "double happiness blog"! Hahaha.
Seriously, I will carry on for as long as I possibly can or until such a time that there is no longer visitor(s) patronizing my blog... For now, life goes on...
In this information overloaded age, many a time, we can't really believe/trust what we hear until we really see it with our own eyes. That's the reason why the saying "Seeing is believing". It is generally true if we talking about present/now. For the future, I beg to differ, thus, I am adding my own thought of "For your future, you need to believe before you can see"! So, let's sort out the right sequence and start BELIEVING now!
Cheers!
Oh, don't forget your "3 things..."!
My Life, My Journey, My Great Little Moments.... Hope it touches you and make you smile along the way... Inspire It Forward!

MAD!
Don't get me wrong, I am not mad about anything, I am actually referring to the English comic MAD!
Why I am talking about "mad" today? The reason being that when I was younger, quite a number of friends told me that I looks like the main character in MAD comic (brown hair, big ears, big nose, pimply face etc etc...). Of course, I din't buy it then (and still don't buy it now). However, as recently I was being reminded once again about it, so I thought why not I "pro-actively" clear it once and for all. Hence, the MAD topic.
Here you are, two photos for your honest opinion/comment! I know you folks are laughing/smiling now(which is the main purpose of my post ;)).
Photo from Mad Comics:
My photo (you need to imagine that I am without the spec):
So, what do you think? Please provide your honest comment...I can take it! I really can!
I think I am mad...hahaha
Cheers!

Education...
If you asked any parent in Singapore, what is the most important aspect they are expecting their children to be excelled on? I believed 9 out of 10 would say education. Indeed, education (or for that matter knowledge) is very important in order to lead a brighter/easier future in your life. However, education alone does not guarantee better prospect (money or achievement) and/or happiness! Other than education, you need to positivised* the BIG blob that sitting between your ears as well!
As you can see, there are so many success stories of bosses/entrepreneurs whom did not go through the higher education and yet they succeeded in their own way! I believed two of the key attributes that they possessed would be NEVER SAY NEVER and NEVER GIVE UP! To be sustainable, such attributes need to be internalised and always come from within. In short, you did it because YOU wanted to and not because of your surrounding or situation.
Before I part, would like to share a thought of mine on knowledge/education:
Cheers!
Note: If you liked to get an email notification on new update of my blog, please fill-in your email address and click on "submit" in the "Follow By Email" section!
*It's not a typo! You can never find this word in dictionary but I believed you know what I am trying to say! ;)

Knowledge/Education in life is like GPRS in driving, it will guide you through all the roads ahead of you. However, it will be of little use if you don't know where you want to go...

Friendship...
Monday, another new start of the week of our life...
As I am off today, it's a stay-home day for me. Unfortunately, this morning is like living in a melting pot, all my brain juice has melted away and turned into fatty oil streaming down my body (read: perpiring). You may asked why didn't I switch on the air-conditioning? Remember the "Go Beyond The Hour" motto? Still trying to stick to it!
Thus, nothing much left inside my brain, really ;P. In view of this, I will be short and sweet today. What I am gonna share is a quote about friendship that I thought of last night (before the melting!):
When the sky is clear, all your friends are seems so dear;
When the sky is cloudy, true friends will show up clearly...
I know this is very obvious and don't get me wrong, I am still surrounding with many beautiful friends. It is just a random thought of mine.
Everyone need friends, let's treasure friendships and do good to each other...
Cheers!
And don't forget about your "3 things...", eventhough it's a Monday.

Dolce far niente (Italian)
Now is 10.08pm, Singapore time and I am writing in the dark. Reason? Earth Hour - Beyond the hour! Hope that all of you are in the dark too (pun intended).
Prior to this, we have just catched a movie at home called "Eat Pray Love" (by Julia Roberts), a movie about a confused and lost soul trying to find balance in life by travelling the world and seek solace in praying and meditation... It's kind of a movie that will set you thinking for yourself...
There are quite a number of good punch lines in the movie and I quite like "Dolce far niente" (Italian), which means Sweetness Of Doing Nothing... Many a time, we find oursleves guilty of not finding peace (with our mind and soul) by doing nothing, we tend to constantly occupied ourselves with job, career, money, relationship, family related issues etc. It's kind of not really living life but rather "worrying" about life. I am not saying that from now on we don't need to care about the bread and butter issue and take responsibilities where deemed fit. But we need to do ourselves a favour by living dolce far niente once in awhile!
Some other interesting/meaningful lines from the movie are:
- Loosing balance for love is part of living a balanced life!
- Expecting others to forgive you is a waste of time, forgive yourself!
- American know entertainment but not pleasure!
(the actor didn't explain much on this but my own interpretation of the different is: "entertainment" will make you happy momentarily but "pleasure" will make you remember forever as there is a connection of mind and soul).
3 things that make we smile today:
1. Watched a good movie
2. Managed to carry out the Earth Hour + without fail (still in the dark now)
3. Both my parents are recovering well at home
What's yours?
Cheers and enjoy your weekend!

Life Is Not Meant To Be A Straight Line
Yesterday is not a very good day (avoiding using negative word like "bad" here!) for a number of people that I cared about, mainly due to work related challenges/difficulties.
As usual, which is what I am good at, is to give them my listening ears and provide snipplet of encouraging responses, in between our conversation. We all know that whatever the outcome of our talks, the situation is not going to change. What I am trying to influence is their response to the situation as I know that if we cannot control the situation/environment, the next best thing that we can do is to control our response to the situation (aka to be as positive as possible)!
This bring me to think about LIFE. I am of the view that Life is never meant to be a straight line, there bounds to be UPs and DOWNs. In fact, that's the true meaning fo LIVING!
Besides, you should be worry if your life is just a stright line as it could means either of the following...
a. You are not living your life but just passing through time OR
b. You are a potential patient in one of the mental instituation (e.g. Woodbridge
Hospital, Singapore) of which you are continually UPs...or DOWNs.....
(there is no "AND") OR
c. You are already "six-feet under ground" (read: DEAD, either mentally
or physically)
To the people that I talked/chat with yesterday: keep going! Let's learn from the penguin (see my post yesterday) and have faith in yourself!
Two more days to Earth Hour and hope that as many of us can "paint" our home/office dark on this Saturday (26/03/2011), from 8.30pm onwards!
Cheers!

New Dimension of Half Full Half Empty
"Is the glass half full or half empty?", I guess that's the question that comes to your mind when shown with the above picture. In life, it is definitely important to carry with us the positive half-full mindset, however, on the same note, wouldn't it be equally important to ask what is actually in the glass?
For example, if you like orange juice and hated lemon juice to the max, I am pretty sure you will be more receptive to 1/3 glass of orange juice than full glass of lemon juice! Make sense?
I personally view that what is more important in life is how fruitful we live our life (aka the content in the glass) then what we have in life (aka the fullness of glass)!
Of course, there are a fair number of us would go with anything comes along. Whenever being asked about what to eat or drink, the typical answer is either "ANYTHING" or "WHATEVER". For such people, of course the outcome (in life) would most problably anything but....
In fact, talking about the "Anything" and "Whatever" trend, you can even find canned drink that branded after them in Singapore (see below picture as proof!!).
So, I guess it's still not too late to start thinking about what you really like to "drink" (aka the fruits that you want to achieve in life), instead of following the tide of anything or whatever! ;)
Whether you like (or dislike) what I've written, please feel free to post comment on my blog AND consider exploring the related sites/links placed on top and right hand corner of the site.

Inspirational Sharing - Inspire It Forward (#1)
Every now and then, we need to get ourselves reminded how fortunate we are (as compared to those who are much much worst but never give up) and how little have we unleashed our full potential. Thus, on weekly basis, I will be sharing some inspirational video clips, quotes or stories to motivate ourselves to keep going and never give up!
Borrow the idea from the movie "Pay It Forward", I hope all my friends (known or yet-to-know) can help to forward this blog or selected inspirational stories/links/quotes that you find insteresting to your friends(known or yet-to-know)/family members so that we can "Inspire It Forward".
I am sure such small action would not have major effect to your individual life, however, I believed that as long as you can be inspired/motivated for a few moment of your life, my objective has been achieved...
Enjoy the sharing below...
1) Inspirational Video (Life without Limits - Nick Vujicic):
2) Inspirational Quote:
When you can't change the direction of the wind, adjust your sails
(By H. Jackson Brown)
By the way, 3 things that make me smile yesterday are:
1. Had a very good soccer game in the morning (after resting for a few months)
2. Mancheter United won the match against Bolton (1-0)
3. My mum has discharged from hospital and recovering at home.
What's yours?
Cheers!

Earth Hour - Go Beyond The Hour
The yearly event of EARTH HOUR will be here in another 1 week's time i.e. on 26th March 2011 (Sat). In this event, people/organisation will switch off the light from 8.30pm for 60 minutes. This year, the organiser has gone beyond the hour (as the slogan said), hence the plus (+) sign.
As shown by the recent big scale calamities in ChristChurch and Japan (in 2011 alone), it is evidenced once again that we need to take the environmental issue seriously. Our earth is NOT feeling well, we need to do our part collectively to heal it (or at least prolong the sickness).
For more information of this year's Earth Hour, please visit their official website at: http://www.earthhour.org/. Besides, you can also download the iPhone app from iTunes (search by "EarthHour 60+") which allow you to earn virtual badges and constant update with the news (Android version is coming up soon).
To drive the event, some local (Singapore) organisation have committed to the following:
1. Resort World Sentosa and more than 50 malls, hotels and retailers under the Orchard Road Business Association have committed to set the air-conditioning temperatures to 24 deg C or higher (to maximise energy efficiency and cost saving).
2. CapitaLand which runs more than 30 shopping malls and commercial propterties will organise a "Wear Less Day" on Friday (25th March 2011) - on which its tenants will be encouraged to dress down as temperatures are turned up.
3. World Wide Fund For Nature Singapore (WWF) will organise a 3.5km Earth Hour Night Walk in Marina Bay during the Earth Hour (Participants pay $15 each; Free for those aged 12 or below).
4. Free concert and carnival will be held at Promontory@Marina Bay from 5.30pm , afterwhich, the award-winning environmental documentary "Th Age Of Stupid" will be screened.
I've committed to take part in this event. I urged all friends/people around the world to take part as well by GO BEYOND THE HOUR. Let's do our part collectively to make our earth SMILE again!!
You can "officially" commit yourself by completing the following online widget created by WWF: [removed as it was expired]
Cheers ! - to EARTH and PEOPLE!

Positive Psychology...
I believed most of us would heard of "Applied Psychology", but have you heard of "Positive Psychology"? I, for one never heard of it until I accidentally discovered it via my very own blog today. Yup, you didn't hear me wrong, I discovered this knowledge through the Google links that was quietly embedded within my own blog.
It seems that Positivity is more like a neccessity nowadays for survival reason, now you can even be taught how to be positive psychologically! Wow, that's amazing...
Besides, do you know that in Singapore, there is a school called "The School Of Positive Psychology" that providing specialised courses on this? Those who are interested to find out more, please follow the link here : http://www.positivepsych.edu.sg/ .
This new discovery did put a BIG SMILE on my face. As my original intention of writing this blog is to create as much positive energy force as possible to the people around me, it didn't cross my mind that I will be gaining NEW knowledge through it.
As the saying goes "Beauty is in the eye of beholder", I would say "Knowledge is in the hand (or finger) of the explorer". Since it's just a matter of one or few click(s) away... So, other than viewing my daily update, do explore (click on the link in my blog or any other sites) on subject(s) that come across as interesting to you, you might be enlightened with the new discovery like myself... Like Forest Gumps says: Life is like a box of chocolates...you never know what you're gonna get!!
Oh, wait wait, in case you are not aware, there are actually hidden treasure (knowledge) within my blog!! For those Google links with little "Left" or "Right" Arrows (see sample pictures below), it means that there are more treasure/knowledge to be explored/expanded by clicking on it... So, enjoy the exploration!! (P.S. This feature is not available if you are accessing the blog through IPhone. Sorry folks!).
Before I sign-off, enjoy your weekend (TGIF) and I am leaving you with the following quote from Helen Keller to ponder over the weekend...
Happiness cannot come from without ; It must come from within
Lastly, hope that you still remember your "3 things that make you..."! ;)
Cheers!

Feel Good Movies
As a movie buff, I like to watch all genres of movies. Thus, today's topic is about movie, to be more specific, about "Feel Good" movies.
What is "Feel Good" movies?
Do you ever experienced that after came out from the cinema, you were deeply touched by the story and felt very upbeat about everything and highly motivated? It's like you was engulfed by the enormous size of positive energy from the show and it just make your day...and you put on a SMILE face for the whole day!
This is the kind of movie I called "Feel Good" movies.
From the countless movies that I've watched, following are 5 of the "Feel Good" movies that have planted such effect on me:
1) Despicable Me (2010) - Animation : Everyone are born good, eventhough you might have turned "bad" temporarily.
2) Hachi: A Dog's Tale (2009): More than the man's best friend.
3) Goal! The Dream Begins (2005) - Dream big, more for soccer lover.
4) Pay It Forward (2000) - Make a better world, from a young boy's point of view.
5) Mr Holland's Opus (1995) - Sacrifices and fulfillment of a composer.
I am sure you have your own list of "Feel Good" movies, why not share it out by listing your "Feel Good" movies in the comment?
By the way, do feel free to check out some of the cool and special offer sites/ads by clicking on the links located on top and right hand corner...they wouldn't bite!! hehe
Oh, oh, don't forget the "3 things that make you smile today" too!

Love vs Happiness
Today I am going to share a random thought that related to love and happiness...
If LOVE is a state of mind, then HAPPINESS is a state of mind-less;
As the lesser you mind, the happier you are...
Life is short, let's focus on enjoying the very moment. Thus, instead of worrying about the past or the future, stay tune at PRESENT!!
Not funny enough? Doesn't live up to your expectation? Maybe following photos come in handy (enjoy!!):

Never Alone...
Alone...a taboo subject. However, I believed everyone of us (including myself) ever faced with such feeling sometime, somewhere, somehow. Just take it as a quiet moment for you to think about your situation and future...
Recently chance upon a song by "Lady Antebellum" entitled "NEVER ALONE". See the clip below:
A very soothing and meaningful song, especially like the lyric on "May your tears come from laughing....", equivalent to Singapore version's "laugh until you cry...". In any case, both are promoting happiness and smiling..and most importantly, appreciating the joyful moment (the true spirit of "Great Little Moment")...
By the way, what are the 3 things that make you smile today? Think about it...
My "3 things that make me smile" are:
1) Managed to complete the workshop on target today
2) Got a request to be FB friend of a total stranger
3) Managed to get my blogging momentum going strong and full steam...
Cheers!

3 things that make you smile!
Smile is easy if we learn to appreciate every little things that happen around us, our family or our friends. There is no need to wait for grant or big things to happen (like strike lottery, winning big in share investment etc...) before you put a smile on your face. In fact, we all should learn to smile on every little good/positive/fun/joyful things happening around us, every day.
Smile is infectious and it does make you looks younger and healthier when you smile regularly! Sometime back, there was an evening program from Class 95 Radio station (if I am not wrong, the DJ then were Jean Danker and Tim Oh) whereby they cite to each other, before the end of everyday program, the "3 things that make them smile" that day. I thought that was a great and cool idea as it remind us the beautiful little things that make you smile that day....
So, what are the 3 things that make me smile today? Here is the list:
First : Published my first Blog... which you are reading now !
Second : Learned that one of my fb friend managed to get a job
Third : Confirmed that there will be soccer game this Saturday... long overdue game!
Why not spend a couple of minutes to think through (before bed time) 3 things that make you smile today? Better still, you can share it with your spouse, family member or even friend and encourage each other to make this as a ritual to go through everyday. I am sure you will wake up happier the next morning...
To help you out, following are 3 pictures that might put a smile on your face immediately (see, the first thing that make you smile today, not that difficult afterall right?):
So, stay SMILING and stay HAPPY... Cheers!

My first blog
This is my first blog... I know, it's a twitter and Facebook era now, but who care, just wanted to share my thought and feeling through blogging...it's never too late to start anything of your interest.
Recently, like to record my life through photos taken around me (by myself, of course)...maybe I am getting old and need to rely on photos to help me remember (sometime in the future) on what I ate, where I've been and the great moment that I've spent with my family and friends...
Especially like the picture of skies and clouds, it make me think a lot about the universe and how small we are...and I am still a strong believer that beyond the thin blue sky, there is another (or more) universe out there, somewhere far far away...which we called them alien.
Some photos of beautiful skies and cloud that I took recently:
On a side note...
It's just 2 days after the worst earthquake and Tsunami that hit Japan (on Friday, 11 Mar 2011, afternoon). The count of casulties is still climbing... it has shown once again how powerful and monsterous the mother nature is capable of doing. Let's all pray for Japan and hope that the people of Japan can resume their lives as soon as possible...as normal as possible...
