History Of Valentine's Day In Animation

Tomorrow (14th Feb) is Valentine's Day, have you gotten ready the flowers, heart-shape card and/or chocolate in an heart-shape boxe? Today, I am going to share the history of Valentine's Day and not how you or me going to celebrate it. 

But not to worry, I am not going to write a lengthy story about the origin of St Valentine's Day (this is what is was originally called). Instead, I am going to share with you a one-and-a-half minutes animation (seeing is believing). You might have thought that the origin of Valentine's Day is a romantic and sweet one. It is anything but. In fact, it is somewhat related to a tragic event...

Powerful And Inspiring Animated Drawings From RSA

Today, I've chanced upon a valuable discovery and I am so eager to share it here in my blog. As a blogger whom like to read and write, this discovery is priceless! The interesting part is that the source of this discovery is not from the web or friends but through my company's employees conference which I attended today.

The gems that I've discovered is RSA (The Royal Society for the encouragement of Arts, Manufactures and Commerce), a registered charity that uses a combination of critical thinking and debate with cutting edge research to promote the arts and encourage social progress. What catches my eye is the RSA Animate video that was shared by the speaker (CEO of WDA Singapore) during the conference. The animated drawing covering the topic about Drive (debate about whether  rewards drive performances?) simply blown me away. It's powerful and amazingly interesting.

In fact, I just can't believed my eyes that such a serious and important topic can be covered in such an interesting way. I saw the vision of the animator and his amazing skill. I think seeing is believing, check out the RSA Animate video, Drive, below for yourself and let me know what you think?

Dr Seuss' The Lorax (3D)

Have you ever wonder what would our world becomes if there is no trees around us? Not even a single living tree in our living environment? I know it's kind of a serious question but this is exactly the message that the latest blockbuster animation, Dr Seuss' The Lorax is trying to "warn" us (based on the latest IMDB Chart, The Lorax tops the US Box Office with USD70.7m on it's first week of release!)

Courtesy of  omy.sg, managed to catch the evening show of The Lorax (3D) with my wife today. We totally enjoyed the movie through our long lost kid's eyes (at least for me). From the creator of Despicable Me and the imagination of Dr. Seuss comes the 3D-CG feature The Lorax. It is a very entertaining and fast paced movie, coupled with it's awesome 3D-effect and educational value, it is a highly recommended family movie that you don't want to miss. Expect lots of singing, dancing and comical moments (the usual stuffs kids like most). Thus, as long as you are watching it with a kid's eyes, I am sure you will enjoy it, TOTALLY!
