My First iOS 6 Panoramic Photo And How To Display It As Adjustable Panorama Photo

Apple has just released it's latest iOS 6 this morning, the upgrade through WIFI is seamless and took me just about 15 minutes to complete the upgrade (I am currently using iPhone 4S). Without wasting much time, my first personal "assignment" is to take a panoramic photo to see how it turn out. 

The panorama feature is logically placed in the "Options" button of the camera. Once you tap on the "Options", you will see the new "Panorama" button (refer to the first photo on the left). Tap on the "Panorama" and you will see a progress bar appearing at the centre of the screen with simple text guide underneath it. Move your phone slowly from left to right in a straight line alignment until the progress bar hit the end (refer to the second photo on the left). You can actually end the shooting earlier by tapping on the camera button at the bottom. By the way, if you move your phone too fast, there will be a message alert you to slow down! I must say that taking panoramic photo via iOS 6 is intuitive and seamless.

Of course, I didn't just stop here as I remember seeing someone incorporate a true panoramic photo online whereby user can dynamically adjust the view in 360 Degree. Thus, I tasked myself to  convert my first panoramic photo into dynamic view too. Through few clicks and searches, finally I managed to find a site called Dermander do just that i.e. automatically convert a panoramic photo into a dynamic view.

iPhone 5 Launch Event Live Coverage - 12 Sep 2012

At this moment, iPhone fans over the world are waiting eagerly for the launch of the new iPhone (let's just name it iPhone 5 for the time being). It is exciting as this will be the first new generation of iPhone to be launched under the helm of new CEO, Tim Cook.

Many rumored concept model has been distributed rigorously and some of the anticipated enhancements like bigger screen, thinner handset and the new earphone (called Earpods) might be the real stuff, just saying.

Titans Of The Digital Age

It is official! The four titans of digital age are Google, Apple, Facebook and Amazon. In fact, they are termed as "Gang Of Four" of technology. You might view that these 4 giants are focusing on different races in the eWorld but they are closer than what you thought.

Do you know that Google has their own brand of Google smartphone (i.e. direct competition with Apple's smartphone)? Do you know that Google has launched their social networking site, Google+ with a bang (again, direct competition with Facebook)? Do you know that Apple is also a direct competitor with Amazon in the online eBooks and MP3d download business? And the list goes on....

With the recent acquisition of Motorola Mobility by Google, it means that Google meant business! They are conquering the eWorld bit by bit, from the current internet world to the soon to be mobile world! Be very scared, Apple and the rest of the titans!

If you study deeper, all of these titans are involved in the "information" business, one way or the other, e.g.:
1. Apple is selling apps through their iTunes store.
2. Google is the top search engine with the built-in online advertising business model.
3. Amazon is selling eBooks or MP3s.
4. Facebook is heavily involved in their online advertising business model.

So, what does it means to you? It means that the money lies in the INFORMATION or ONLINE RESOURCES! The best part is that everyone has the equal chance to make it BIG in the digital age! In short, everyone can be the fifth titan! So, start to squeeze your brain juice now and hope that the next "killer site" is from you!

iCloud vs rCloud

The Cloud is finally here! 

The first cloud that I am talking about is iCloud by Apple. It was officially released yesterday (6th June 2011) by CEO of Apple, Mr Steve Jobs at the WWDC (Apple's World Wide Developers Conference). So, what can iCloud really do? Actually, it's a Cloud Computing service that allows user to store data such as music files, apps and automatically sync between multiple devices such as : iPhones, iPods, iPads and of course the PC.

Actually, it's nothing revolutionary as Cloud Computing* has been around for quite sometime (in fact way back to 1960s). Besides, with the evolution of FREE social media sites and ever increasing power of the FREE web services like Google.com (which you can do practically anything online), iCloud is just a small improvement and not a quantum leap.

Having said that, since it's FREE and there are tons and tons of Apple fanboys around the world, I guess consumer can't complaint much since it does provide convenience to your life. By the way, everyone who sign-up for iCloud entitled to 5GB of free storage, in the cloud!

The next cloud that I am talking about is rCloud (forget about searching it on Google as it will be a waste of your time). This is actually the term that I coined myself for REAL cloud (hehe). I like to watch the sky and cloud formation. whenever have chance, I will take out my iPhone and snap the beautiful and unique combination of sky-cum-cloud. In fact, it's my every morning ritual to look out for potential "beauty" from the top...

Since we are into the cloud thing now, like to share one of my top favorite rCloud that even blow myself away when I first saw it (I took it with my 3.5G iPhone and guarantee original without photoshop effect):

So, which cloud is better? iCloud or rCloud?
